Merry Christmas everyone! Although we think that we do a pretty ok job of pretending to be professionals, we have had many less than graceful moments on set over the last year. For the holidays this year, we thought we would give you the gift of laughing at our mistakes since all of you have been so patient while we scrap together the next few episodes with what little spare time, paper clips, and glue sticks we have. Here is a time lapse of Patrick and Ryan creating the cardboard sign that you see at the beginning of every episode of Unemployed Vampires. A surprising amount of work was needed to transform the sign (which started out as a completely clean cardboard box) into the stained and wrinkled piece of garbage that you all know and love. We captured some of the more interesting parts of the process in this video in case somebody cared.
Salutations everyone! As you have undoubtedly heard by now, the show is on a little bit of a break for the near future. We have reached the end of our planned 6 episode initial run, and we are currently slaving away working on new episodes. Unfortunately that means there will be a bit a of gap between episodes 6 and 7. So to fill that void, we are going to start releasing little snippets of behind the scenes footage that we think you might find amusing or interesting. Hopefully these little videos will suffice to fill the emptiness in your lives left by the lack of new episodes. If not, then tough shit, the show is free and we can’t afford to do this full time.
Anyway, on to this weeks clip! If you are one of the many of people who were kind enough to volunteer your time to work on the show with us, you know by now that due to the nature of this show we work very late into the night. Now that it is July, the sun setting after 9:00 PM has further lengthened our day into the borderline inhumane hours of the morning. The cast and crew have learned to combat this unavoidable fact by ingesting toxic levels of coffee and Red Line. Usually this works well enough to see us through to the final take. But sometimes, one of us bites the dust. When this happens, common set courtesy compels us to mess with that person. Which brings us to the video:
